Chess Sets

I don’t own a lathe, and I won’t be making a Staunton set anytime soon! Nevertheless, the six chess pieces are a ready excuse to engage in some miniature sculpting. Each set has a name. 🙂

‘Ambrosia‘
Magnetic chess set and board of hardwood, silver, fabric, and fiber optic catseye beads.

‘Milk & Honey‘
Chess set of ebony and sapele, and holly and boxwood.

‘Babylon‘
Chess set of ebony, maple, and sterling silver. Pieces from 1.5″ – 3″ tall.

‘Charlemagne‘
Prototype. Chess set of cocobolo, sterling silver, and fiber optic catseye beads. Pieces from 2″ – 4″ tall.
